Weekend Recap - Week 11

Commish's Corner....

Everyone knows the Bears offense is getting exposed this season, but they took it a step further when Devin Hester nearly dropped trow and exposed the top of his ass on national television. I didn't catch it at first, I'm guessing the replay booth didn't either. When they showed the replay on slow motion, there it was, butt crack! Ahhhhhh.....

After Monday's game is over, there are exactly two weeks in the regular season left to play. League rosters will be locked for the season, thus no more transactions are allowed during the playoffs.

The East Division will come down to whoever can win out. Currently the division has all four teams at 5-5. This week, three teams currently have won their Week 11 game and there is a good chance that number 4 comes back to win their game on Monday night. If this happens, two weeks left, all four teams will be 6-5. Meaning, to have a chance to win the division, you must win out and hope for the best in the tie breakers.

Dear Pimp Juice, Tom Brady is on the cover of GQ....again!

This one was a close one, but we have a winner. The Choads of the East, bitch slap the Slappers of the West. Choads now 6-5, tied for the division lead with Stickboy and Dragons. Grease will be 6-5, but most likely still has the division lead by one game. It was a solid effort by both teams, but the main difference at the end of the night was Eli Manning's career best game of 384 yards passing. Between both teams, 4 running backs, 6 receivers, the lowest point total was 11.13 points by Reggie Wayne!

Having Chris Johnson and Kris Brown yet to play, Dragons cruise to their 5th win in a row and owns share of the division lead with Thunder Choads and Stickboy at 6-5. Big Daddy will get it's lowest point total of the season and low score of the week for the league. The wheels fall of the wagon as they drop to 4-7 in the West.

This win moves Stickboy to 6-5 in the East, tied for division lead with Dragons and Thunder Choads. With two games yet to play in the regular season, and both weeks divisional match ups, that makes this win all that more important. I'd read in a couple of forums about people leaving Greg Jennings on their bench this week, your gain for starting him. The loss for Pimp Juice drops them to 5-6 in the Central division with virtually no chance of wining it at this point. The good news, despite the loss, plenty of points were scored by the starters and the bench players. This only favors this team as it heads to the playoffs. It will need a strong finish to make the playoffs.

The current lead for Rutting Bucks is 33.58. Dynasty has QB Matt Schaub and WR Andre Johnson still to play against the Tennessee Titans. If any two players can make up 33.58 points in a game is these two. Titans have been playing well as of late, will Houston have to throw to stay in this one? If Dynasty is to come back and win, he will be tied for the East Division lead with the other three teams and only two games to play. Rutting Bucks needs the win to stay in the playoff hunt. Which way will this match up end in is anybody's guess.

A sizeable lead of 24.46 points for Buckwheat who has kicker, Rob Bironas yet to play. One Angry Gook has running back Ryan Moats still to play. The bad news for OAG is Steve Slaton is forcasted to play and will cut down on Moats' carries. If Buckwheat ends up with the win, this will be a quality win for this team for a change. It may, just maybe will move this team out of the number 12 spot in the rankings....maybe.

It's a victory for the 6-5 Crippled Monkeys and a loss for the 4-7 Stud Stables. This could be considered a lucky win for the Monkey's who lost Ladell Betts [MCL according to the Washington Post] during the game scoring 0.63 points. However, this was countered by 0.00 points from MIA Roy Williams.

Three weeks left in the regular season. The East Division is a mess with all four teams now at 5-5, it's anyone's division to win or lose. The Central Division is on the verge of a winner with team Buckwheat needing another win to clinch, or is it two wins? The West is a little closer, Grease has a 1 game lead over OAG with The Big Stud Daddy Stables only 2 game behind.

Will the Week 11 games make the playoff race a bit clearer or muddier....

	2 (1)	Dynasty	5-5-0	This team feel off the face of the Fantasy Football world in week 10, a couple of key players on BYE week and a couple players had very tough opponents to play. Should get back in track in week 11, right?
	3 (3)	Pimp Juice	5-5-0	I had this team pegged as a Beer Bowl participant a few weeks ago, I've been swayed as of late. If it can keep Brady scoring like he can, plus get big numbers from both of it's running backs each week, it just might be enough to counter its inconsistent receiving core.
	4 (4)	Dragons	5-5-0	You counted this team out didn't you? Four decent wins in a row and now tied for the division lead in the East. Remember when I said this team always wins it's division....
	5 (9)	Grease Slappers	6-4-0	May have only lost Cedric Benson for the week, but has now gained McCoy with Westbrook out and may get some decent playing time out of Beenie Wells now. Can this team put back to back wins together, I doubt it.
	6 (6)	One Angry Gook	5-5-0	With Michael Turner with a high ankle sprain, listed as probable for W11, this team will be in trouble if Turner's injury forces him to miss games or split carries. Will need receiver help to offset any point loss by his absence.
	7 (11)	Thunder Choads	5-5-0	Gets Eli Manning back this week vs 28th passing ranked Falcons. Had his highest point total of the season in W10 thanks to ADP and Steve Smith [the original good one].
	8 (5)	The Stud Stable	4-6-0	Loses Ronnie Brown in week 11, perhaps more? Very thin at RB's now going into the cold season.
	9 (7)	Rutting Bucks	4-6-0	Three loses in a row, had a better week than last. Receivers are in a bit of a struggle, but Ricky Williams is the #1 guy in Miami with Ronnie Brown out.
	10 (8)	Stickboy	5-5-0	Four loses in a row now since he was last seen doing the MC Hammer dance. Has Roethlisberger against the Chiefs this week and may put up some numbers, hopefully the rest of the team gets on track.
	11 (10)	Big Daddy	4-6-0	Forte on track, the rest of the team, not so. Bowe is now suspended 4 weeks, and you know Brandon Marshall ain't putting up 30 points when you start him in week 11....
	12 (12)	Buckwheat	7-3-0	The owner of this team wears a necklace made of lucky rabbits feet and kisses horseshoes before submitting his lineup....

Weekend Recap - Week 10

Commish's Corner....

Think back to mid August, back to the garage of the Commish, that late summer eve. Thank back to see Rutting Buck's secret drafting weapon, the foam hat. Think back to the Bret Favre's debut game in a Minnesota Viking uniform and watching it on the LCD. Everything was new, fresh, positive. How excited the new season was for us all.

We all drafted the best team possible that night, or at least on paper. Several weeks have gone by and we've all had ups and downs throughout the season. We all have a few players we wish we would have gone after a bit more harder, but didn't for some reason or another. Perhaps that would have made our season, perhaps not. Heck, you could have drafted a sort of decent team and your players have under performed, you even find yourself ranked last in post scored and points scored against. Yet somehow, someway, you find yourself sitting at 7-3 after 10 weeks.

If team Buckwheat isn't proof that you don't always have to draft the best players to win in Fantasy Football, I don't know what is. That much of the success of your team hinges on the schedule from week to week. Current points scored leader, Dynasty's worst week of the 2009 season has come at the hands of team Buckwheat in Week 10. Yes, another team under performs during the week it plays Buckwheat. That my friends is luck, pure luck....

Injury Bug Hits Week 10

There was a considerable amount of key injuries this week to many of our star players. Here is a recap

QB, Kyle Orton, DEN - Undisclosed Ankle Injury, He will be re-evaluated on Monday, but early reports he will miss a couple of weeks.

RB, Ronnie Brown, MIA - Undisclosed Ankle Injury, Brown was seen leaving the stadium on crutches. Results of the x-ray's are not known at this moment.

RB, Julius Jones, SEA - Undisclosed Chest Injury, early reports indicate a possible rib fracture. He experienced some bleeding in his lung, more will be known on Monday.

RB, Cedric Benson, CIN - Strained Hip Flexor, left the game after pulling his hip flexor. The injury is not serious and he may be ready for week 11.

RB, Michael Turner, ATL - High Ankle Sprain, x-ray's were negative, but he could not put any weight on his foot. He was seen with a boot on his foot after the game. MRI on Monday

RB, Brian Westbrook, PHI - left Sunday's game after suffering another concussion. 2 concussions in 20 days, there is a chance he misses the rest of the season.

WR, Steve Smith, CAR - left the game with brused ribs, but he was able to return. The injury does not look serious but his status for week 11 is uncertain.

Lastly....

"The League" Thursday's on FX - So I've watched the first two episodes of The League via Hulu. It's the show based around Fantasy Football. It's diffidently not your normal prime time show. Language, sex, vulgar jokes, and a bit of fantasy football. Give it a look if you have 30 minutes to kill.

Current lead for Grease is 43.33 points with only Rutting Bucks having the Ravens defense yet to play. That will be a tough mountain to climb. Rutting Bucks receivers, which has been rather strong as of late, did not come through. Rutting Bucks should fall to 4-6 in the Central. Grease had a strong week from Steven Jackson finding the end zone for the second time all season. Grease should advance to 6-4 in the West and by the looks of it, should be alone for the division lead.

	Big Daddy (4-5) West 98.29	vs	Pimp Juice (4-5) Central 111.11

Pimp Juice will move to 5-5 in the Central with a great performance from Tom Brady. Really, what was Brian Bilicheck thinking by going for it on 4 and 1 from the 30? He should have given the green light for Brady himself to rush the ball, that would have secured the first down. I don't blame you for starting Maroney this week over LT, Larance got another TD, but LT scored two and plenty of yards to go around. Gotta love fantasy football eh? This drops Big Daddy to 4-6 in the West. Had a good week from Matt Forte and Peyton Manning, the bummer is having the points on the bench to get the win. Ouch!

I've talked about this match up in the Commish's corner, see there for the game review....Buckwheat moves to 7-3 in the Central with a 5 game winning streak. Dynasty is now 5-5 in the East.

	Crippled Monkeys (4-5) Central 103.08	vs	Stickboy (5-4) East 71.23

The Crippled Monkeys lead is 31.85. Stickboy has the only player yet to play with RB, Ray Rice. Rice has scored 30+ points for a game one time this season against the Vikings. The Ravens are playing the Browns who have a rushing defense rank of 31 could give up the points, the potential is there. But if the Browns get behind, they may resort to their passing game. Stay tuned....

Dragons has the lead, has a player still to play and has the win for the week. Dragons will advance to 5-5 in the East after looking dead 5 weeks ago. They now find themselves with a 4 game winning streak and tied for the division lead. Well, if my Minnesota math is correct, all of the teams in the East will be 5-5. Stud Stable takes a frustrating loss and drops to 4-6 in the West. There were points on the bench to possibly win, but Derrick Mason still to play could add to the lead for Dragons and bench points wouldn't have mattered.

The Choads top 110 point mark for the first time this season. A huge week from Adrian Peterson and Steve Smith [CAR]. A much needed victory and improves to 5-5 in the East with everyone else in the division. One Angry Gook will drop to 5-5 in the West. Had a decent week, but the injury to Michael Turner may be the end of this team for the season.
