Championship 2009 Weekend Recap

Commish's Corner....

The 2009 title round is still up for grabs. We have two teams making their first appearance into the playoffs, both making it to the Super Bowl round. Congrats gentleman.

Wildcard Round Game Recaps….

It's come down to the Vikings versus Chicago game to determine the winner. For a championship game, this is as close as it gets. The way each of these players have been playing, it's really a crap shoot to guess who is going to win it on Monday. The Bears have nothing left this season and are unable to stop no one. Though this is a division rival and perhaps they will show up to play the Vikings? Best of luck to you both.

Making his first appearance in the playoffs, just hanging on for the win, Dynasty advances to the Championship game by beating the defending Champs by just over 1 point. Whoa! I'm just now looking at the scores of each player and I see Jerome Harrison with 55.25 points on the bench? Damn! I hadn't watch much of any of the NFL games today, except for the evening contest, but wow, 55 points is amazing, even more amazing on ones bench! Here is more frustration for ya'll, 6 of 8 teams not in the playoffs could have had a victory over both of these teams. Looking to next week, Dynasty may be limping into the playoffs depending on how serious the injury to DeAngelo Williams is. Rushed for 16 yards, then took a strange hit bending one of his knees awkwardly. This team has scored 150 points three times this season, so there is plenty of potential from week to week.

	(3) One Angry Gook (8-6) West 76.92	vs	Thunder Choads (5) (6-7) East 86.13

Thunder Choads lead in this one by 9.21 points. Each team has one player left, but the difference being a Defense versus a Quarterback. Giants are playing the Redskins who have a very decent pass defense. While neither team left too many points on the bench, there was a couple decent performance from each team, plus a couple of stinkers for each. I like the Choads lead going into Monday, but the weather has changed now, passing isn't the first option, unless your Ben Roethlisburger throwing for 503 yards. So who to predict as the winner, hummmm, we shall see.

Playoff Recap Wild Card Week

Commish's Corner....

We've completed the regular season games and are in the Wild Card round of our playoffs. I'm still not sure what to think of this season. So many up's and downs with each team this year. No one really dominated and the majority of teams were about .500. Will this change of spreading the passes around to 8-10 receivers become the trend for years to come or was this year an odd one?

People's Choice Awards 2009 are underway. So far we have 9 entries with only 3 left to submit.

Wildcard Round Game Recaps….

Moving on to the Semi-Finals round in Week 15 is team Buckwheat. Despite having scored the least amount of points in the league, while having the best record overall, and facing one of the power house teams in the league, putting up 102 points with Kurt Warner still to play is a well earn win in my book. A couple of monster games from Ryan Grant scoring 30, DeSean Jackson with 27 points and kicker Rob Bironas adding 20. Sadly it's the end for Rutting Bucks, what got him here to the playoffs was the main contributor for today's early exit, Aaron Rodgers only scoring 11 points, was it the weather? Thomas Jones scores 24 today, what a year for him again, can he do this again next year at age 32? For the Semi-Finals, Buckwheat remains the number one seed with a 10-4 record.

	(2) Dragons (8-5) East 109.54	vs	Dynasty (7) (6-7) East 123.47

I thought this one was over after the early games with team Dynasty getting 36 points from Andre Johnson. That was countered in the late games by team Dragons scoring 41 from Chris Johnson. Which brings us to the Monday Night Football game between Arizona and San Francisco. The current lead for team Dynasty is 13.93, they have played all on their roster. Team Dragons still has Larry Fitzgerald who is averaging 15.09 per game. Stay tuned for the outcome of this one.

	(3) One Angry Gook (7-6) West 102.86	vs	Grease Slappers (6) (7-6) West 91.07

Grease made up a lot of points with his Philly players, but it wasn't enough to knock off the outstanding running backs Jammal Charles and Jason Snelling. Seriously, how many of you even had these two guys on your draft list back on draft night? The stronghold of OAG's team has been the receivers, but they didn't put up the numbers this week. Are we seeing a change in the weather effecting teams passing games now? Grease's team was unable to score a touchdown outside of McNabb. Grease exposed the weakness of the team, not drafting a number 2 or number 3 receiver. For the Semi-Finals, depending on the outcome of Dragons-Dynasty, he will be a number 2 or 3 seed and will face the number 2 or 3 seed.

	(4) Stickboy (7-6) East 89.31	vs	Thunder Choads (5) (7-6) Central 107.32

Interesting match up we have here. Choads are up by 18.01 points with RB Tim Hightower to play. Stickboy has WR Anquan Boldin and the Cardinals Defense. Hightower averages 12.5 points a game, the 49ers Defense is ranked number 5 against the run. Boldin averages 11 points and the defense will get you points, but can it make up an 18 point deficit? This one will be close by the end of the game. For the Semi-Final round, depending on the outcome of Dragons-Dynasty, the winner will be a 3 or 4 seed.

We have two teams moving on to Week 15, Big Daddy and Crippled Monkeys. Only one of the four teams has a player on Monday night. Pimp Juice needs 13.61 points from Frank Gore to advance to the next week, if he does not, it will be the Stud Stables in Week 15.

East Division: Dragons [8-5] earn their 4th division title in a row by winning the final 7 games of the season and will have the number two seed.

Central Division: Buckwheat [9-4] with their 1st division title, will have the number one seed throughout the playoffs

West Division: One Angry Gook [7-6], their 2nd division title in a row, will be the number three seed to start the playoffs.

Wild Card Seedings: Pimp Juice [6-7], Crippled Monkeys [6-7], Big Daddy [5-8], The Stud Stable [4-9]

	1 (1)	Dragons	8-5-0	Dragons have scored the second most points the last six weeks of the season while going 6-0 as well. The team turned the corner with Romo, Chris Johnson and Fitz all dominating in point scoring.
	2 (3)	Dynasty	6-7-0	The only team to score 150+ points three times this season. There is a lot this team has to offer and the only problem it has is which players to start each week. Also, for the first time in league history, this was not the team with the most points scored against. Yeah, this team had that honor three years in a row.
	3 (2)	Crippled Monkeys	6-7-0	Second moist points in scoring, but losing the final two games of the season was a downer to a great draft. The curse of the highest auction player lives on.
	4 (7)	Rutting Bucks	6-7-0	Over the last six weeks, this is the team that has scored the most points. I've heard a few of you talking at Stickboy's house that you were a bit scared to face this power house in the playoffs. Winning the final two weeks and just made the 8th seed.
	5 (4)	Thunder Choads	7-6-0	Lost Steve Slaton for the remainder of the season. Can ADP and Hightower be enough for a playoff run. The receivers are coming on strong in the last half of the season, plus the defense has been putting up a ton of points as of late.
	6 (5)	Pimp Juice	6-7-0	I must give props for sticking with your stud RBs despite me giving you a hard time for not starting Maroney the last three weeks or so. Bad luck of the schedule as you were one of two teams on the short end of the tie breakers, welcome to the Beer Bowl. Oh, and this is the team that had the most points scored against.
	7 (6)	Grease Slappers	7-6-0	Squeezed out a win with a last minute field goal to end the season. Team may be in trouble if the Colts sit their starters once they gain home field advantage.
	8 (9)	One Angry Gook	7-6-0	Won the final two game of the season to edge out Grease for the West title. Right now this team has the hottest receivers but the coldest running backs [due to injuries]. Is this the new winning formula?
	9 (8)	Stickboy	7-6-0	Only won two of it's last seven games of the season, has scored the least amount of points during that stretch, yet at the early part of the season, this was the team to beat. Can it put it together for the playoffs, I don't know.
	10 (10)	Big Daddy	5-8-0	Ended with a loss to a disappointing season. Third most points scored against, but had a few decent weeks to make it interesting. Had a few players change teams mid season and this team faltered quite often.
	11 (11)	The Stud Stable	4-8-0	Losing Ronnie Brown really hurt this team with Moss finally coming on strong in the last half of the season. Brees was huge but the rest of the team wasn't getting it done each week.
	12 (12)	Buckwheat	9-4-0	A fitting end to the season by scoring the second lowest score of the week, just like clock work, it played the lowest score of the week and gets yet another victory.
