Fantasy Rankings - Week 3
The much anticipated, eagerly awaited, fantasy team rankings. First off, it took only three weeks to give every team in the league it's first loss. There are seven teams with a 2-1 record, again making this all that much tougher. Also, I'm not sure if you noticed, Every team in the West Division won in Week 3, while every team in the East Division took a loss. The Central Division split with 2 wins, 2 losses.
Here we go.... (last week in brackets)
1. Thunder Choads (1) [2-1] - I know, this team took a loss in week 3, how is it still ranked number 1? I'm not ready to put Crippled Monkeys in the top spot this week. The Choads still have AP, I'm not sure how banged up he is, but another so-so week and the top spot will go to someone else.
2. Crippled Monkeys (2) [2-1] - MJD had a huge week, the rest of the team was average at best. The bench, well, that is the main reason the Monkeys stay at the number 2 slot. The bench scares the bejesus out of me!
3. The Stud Stable (6) [2-1] - The love I lost for this team in week 2 has returned in week 3. Drew Brees scores under 10 points, the rest of the team makes up for it this week with plenty on the bench to spare. It's a well rounded team, lots of studs, lots of depth and 11 of 12 players drafted via auction.
4. Stickboy (4) [2-1] - This team played well in Week 3, unfortunately it faced the fierce Big Daddy team who produced the high score of the week. It was a gutsy move benching TJ Housh, it was the right move with all three receivers scoring more.
6. Buckwheat (9) [2-1] - and I quote "It's hard to pick your lineup when you have so many good players" This team easily could have scored over 130 points if the line up was at it's best. This team will be strong now that the BYE weeks are here.
6. One Angy Gook (8) [2-1] - Back in the winning column, keeping the faith and this team will turn the corner and start to dominate.
7. Dynasty (5) [1-2] - Decent numbers this week after Week 2's monster performance, wasn't enough to win this week. Still had decent point totals for most of the players. Lost Laurant Robinson for the season and will have to grab a replacement off the waiver wire. Plus that replacement kicker really hurt.
8. Grease Slappers (10) [2-1] - Got LeSean McCoy into the starting lineup with Westbrook inactive. Now has Glen Coffee as a starter with Frank Gore out for three weeks. Then there's the only offensive threat for St Louis, Steven Jackson and Cedric Benson, still performing great for three weeks in a row. This team may be moving up, but not until week 5 as it has 6 players on BYE in week 4.
9. Big Daddy (11) [1-2] - This team is not out of the woods yet, but had the top score of the week, congrats. Got a couple of injured or sluggish players back, but also had a couple others get injured or close to being done with their career.
10. Pimp Juice (3) [1-2] - This team makes me wince in pain. LT out, Frank Gore out, Lance Moore MIA, Chris Chambers MIA, Brady relied on the running game to win and now Fred Jackson will have to fight Marshawn Lynch for playing time.
11. Rutting Bucks (12) [0-3] - This team had some good news, despite it's third loss. Marshawn Lynch returns in week 4, we'll see how long it takes to get into game shape. Kevin Walters is over the hamstring injury, Knowshon Moerno had a huge week. Time will tell how this all plays out.
12. Dragons (7) [1-2] - As requested, Dragons take the last spot in the rankings. This team has the potential, the bench did well, when it's firing on all cylinders, look out. This was not one of those weeks.

Game Recaps - Week 3
One Angry Gook vs Rutting Bucks - 84.01 to 66.85 - This is match up is a final. At the completion of the early games on Sunday, the score was within a couple of points. While not a real earth shattering performance, OAG held of Rutting Bucks who has improved his squad since last weeks games. OAG improves to 2-1 in the West, Rutting Bucks drop to 0-3 in the Central.
The Stud Stable vs Pimp Juice - 103.06 to 76.26 - While this is not the final score, a winner has been determined with Stud Stables crushing the heavily injured Pimp Juice. A very impressive win for the stables who move also move to 2-1 in the West, and they still have Roy Williams playing Monday night. Potentially this team could have the second highest or high score of the week. Oddly enough, Drew Brees was the low scorer for the week. If Brees had a typical game, it could have been really ugly. Pimp Juice took more bad news when Frank Gore was injured on the first play of the game and has joined LT on the sidelines. Move Juice down to a 1-2 record in the Central.
Grease Slappers vs Dynasty - 113.92 to 84.19 - The lead for Grease is 29.76 over Dynasty. Both teams have a Monday night player. Grease has kicker Nick Folk, Dynasty has running back DeAngelo Williams. Both teams had a solid performace this week. The Slappers made a quick starting line up move when it was announced Brian Westbrook would be inactive, thus moving rookie LeSean McCoy in place of the studly Cedric Benson. Grease also is in contention for the high score and the second high score for the week. It really makes it tough for Dynasty needing nearly 30 points, on top of Nick Folks points. With the Panthers struggling, this will be a real tough challenge to pull out the victory.
Big Daddy vs Stickboy - 130.87 to 96.62 - This one is a final. A very nice first win for Big Daddy. The current high score of the week leader. Making two last minute roster moves inserting Pierre Thomas and Dallas Clark and removing Kevin Smith and Dwayne Bowe. It pays off and improves the record to 1-2 on the year, one game out of first in the West. Stickboy, nearly tops 100 points, but couldn't quite get enough points on the board this week taking his first loss of the season, now 2-1 in the East.
Buckwheat vs Dragons - 97.00 to 47.66 - Leading by nearly 50 points, Buckwheat should have the victory by the end of the Monday night game. Dragons still has Tony Romo yet to play, but he'll need another Chris Brown Johnson like performance to win this one. I honestly can't see it happening two weeks in a row. Buckwheat improves to 2-1 in the East, Dragons drop to 1-2 in the Central.

The 89 dollar bidding war against Grease Slappers for Jones-Drew paid off this week nabbing 36.38.

Fantasy Rankings - Week 2
We have a new team in the top spot. Yes, the Choads move up to the number one ranked team after the week 2 games. There are two undefeated teams, two win less teams, and a log jam of 1-1 teams. (last weeks ranking)
1. Thunder Choads (2) [2-0] - Facing last weeks number 1 ranked team, the Choads easily knocked off the 2008 Champions with a much more balanced play from his team. The starters and bench points should make any team a bit nervous in the coming weeks with ADP playing against the 49ers, Packers and the Rams.
2. Crippled Monkeys (5) [1-1] - Two consistent weeks of play will move this team up into the number 2 spot. I have not read any updates on Barber, probably the only concern for this team currently. One could argue for the sub-par bench, but you only need them for BYE weeks right?
3. Pimp Juice (6) [1-1] - How the hell does 11 points from Tom Brady and LT on the bench earn this team the 3 spot? They managed to top their week 1 point total with the unusual Brady numbers and a sidelined LT by nearly 30 points. Brady pixie dust, enough said.
4. Stickboy (8) [2-0] - Big Ben was a passing QB for the second week in a row to my surprise. Jennings, 0 catches, 0 points, huh? A huge week by the defense and remains undefeated. I'm still concerned about the core of this team so you may see this team fall next week.
5. Dynasty (7) [1-1] - Props on scoring the second highest point total in league history. A .500 start, not bad. Your team just proved it can score a hell of a lot of points. Now can they keep it going and score on a consistent basis?
6. The Stud Stable (3) [1-1] - I'm losing the love for this team. It's still a stud team with stud Drew Brees. Stud running back Ronnie Brown, now on year two from his ACL injury, appears to be back to the same pre-injury form self, when he was leading the NFL in rushing yardage. There is a lot going for this team, hopefully they'll catch up to stud status.
7. Dragons (10) [1-1] - If Chris Johnson, Fitz and Romo all play good on the same week, this team will be deadly. Minus the huge game by Chris Johnson, it was a pretty mediocre week. I am starting to gain some faith with this team.
8. One Angry Gook (12) [1-1] - Receivers....Receivers....Bueller....Bueller....the running game took a confusing turn this week. The bright spot is the QB position. Will this team become a contender, possibly. Something needs to turn for the positive.
9. Buckwheat (1) [1-1] - Second lowest score of the week. One of three teams that hasn't topped the 100 point mark. Injuries are starting to be a concern.

Game Recaps - Week 2
Thunder Choads vs Buckwheat - 103.27 to 72.77 - This one is a final. The Choads win 103.27 to 72.77 knocking off the number one ranked team and 2008 Champions, Buckwheat. From the power rankings, I mentioned the Choad's receiving core needed to step up to make this team more balanced. They did just that this week with strong games from Percy Harvin and Steve Smith [CAR], combined with Adrian Peterson the topping 20 point mark. Buckwheat had decent numbers from Ryan Grant and Calvin Johnson with 14.50 and 14.38 and a rebound week from Kurt Warner. The rest of the RBs and WRs didn't fair so well managing only 14.26 points combined.
Dragons vs Crippled Monkeys - 129.28 to 122.73 - The Dungeons vs Dragons match up heated up on Friday with clever name changes and this one turned in to a close battle by days end. With a final score of 129.28 to 122.73, Dragons earn their first win of the season and more than likely the second high score of the week. Chris Johnson turned in the highest score by one play in the league's history with 53.50 points. Minus Derrick Mason, a very good point total from the team this week. Monkeys posted double digit scores from every player except for the Chargers defense. This one possible could have had a different outcome as Marion Barber had broken one for long yardage and a possible TD, but dropped like a rock around the 12 yard line with a pulled hamstring or something that caused him to stop running. If not for that freak injury, Monkeys would be victorious.
Stickboy vs Grease Slappers - 112.92 to 79.77 - Stickboy is up by 33.15 going into Monday nights game, but has reached his final score. Grease has Reggie Wayne yet to play Monday. 33.15 points is doable from Wayne, especially with Anthony Gonzales out, he should get plenty of looks. Stickboy had very decent numbers from his starters, Roethlisberger for the second week in a row was a huge key to Stickboy's success. I'm not sure what happened to Greg Jennings or the Packers, he gave Stickboy zero points this week. Grease again lost his quarterback to a rib injury, which really puts this team in a bind. Here is a strange stat that may surprise some of you, 141 yards rushing on 29 carries from Cedric Benson, that's not a typo. Stay tuned for the nail biter finish and see if Wayne can pull off a miracle victory for the Slappers.
Dynasty vs Big Daddy - 147.39 to 67.88 - The league's single game high score record is in jeopardy Monday night. Dynasty with a huge point total of 147.39 needs about 10 points from Joseph Addai on Monday night. Big Daddy still has Peyton Manning yet to play, but his points will not be enough to make this one close. Dynasty will earn the high score of the week and possible a record breaking night. All of his players posted high yardage totals plus 1 or 2 touchdowns for each player. Nicely done! Big Daddy did have okay yardage, but only scored 1 touchdown from the core of his starters.
Pimp Juice vs One Angry Gook - 130.48 to 104.89 - This one is a final, Pimp Juice moves to 2-0 on the season, OAG falls to .500. What really stands out to me on this match up is the bench points of OAG. More specifically, Darren Sproles 150 yards, 1 TD. With LT out, Sproles was the main ball carrier on the day for the Chargers. Is it a precursor to how it will be with LT getting up there in age? [See Michael Turner] Pimp Juice, as mentioned, had LT out for the week, yet didn't need him. Frank Gore, 246 yards, 2 TD and Fred Jackson 188 yards gave this team the lead for this match up. I'm curious what happens to Fred Jackson once Marshawn Lynch returns from suspension. The guys is putting up great numbers, how can you not give him the ball? For you Tom Brady haters, [Grease] just a mear 11 points for the week.
Rutting Bucks vs Stud Stable - 68.59 to 54.22 - Rutting Bucks is done for the week, Stables has Ronnie Brown on Monday to play. The lead for Bucks Bucks is 14.37 points. Splitting carries with Rickey Williams will make the final score a nail biter an too close to call a victor. I had expected to see Mike Bell in the starting line up this week, that would have made the difference in the "I Shoulda Started" category. Like Grease, Stables final point totals fell to earth like a rock. Rutting Bucks had a sub-par performance from his core lineup, though Chad Johnson [Ochocinco] and a surprising good game this week. I'm sure it hurt to root for Chad Johnson and root for the Packers at the same time.

Dynasty vs Big Daddy - 147.39 to 67.88 - The league's single game high score record is in jeopardy Monday night. Dynasty with a huge point total of 147.39 needs about 10 points from Joseph Addai on Monday night. Big Daddy still has Peyton Manning yet to play, but his points will not be enough to make this one close. Dynasty will earn the high score of the week and possible a record breaking night. All of his players posted high yardage totals plus 1 or 2 touchdowns for each player. Nicely done! Big Daddy did have okay yardage, but only scored 1 touchdown from the core of his starters.
Pimp Juice vs One Angry Gook - 130.48 to 104.89 - This one is a final, Pimp Juice moves to 2-0 on the season, OAG falls to .500. What really stands out to me on this match up is the bench points of OAG. More specifically, Darren Sproles 150 yards, 1 TD. With LT out, Sproles was the main ball carrier on the day for the Chargers. Is it a precursor to how it will be with LT getting up there in age? [See Michael Turner] Pimp Juice, as mentioned, had LT out for the week, yet didn't need him. Frank Gore, 246 yards, 2 TD and Fred Jackson 188 yards gave this team the lead for this match up. I'm curious what happens to Fred Jackson once Marshawn Lynch returns from suspension. The guys is putting up great numbers, how can you not give him the ball? For you Tom Brady haters, [Grease] just a mear 11 points for the week.
Rutting Bucks vs Stud Stable - 68.59 to 54.22 - Rutting Bucks is done for the week, Stables has Ronnie Brown on Monday to play. The lead for Bucks Bucks is 14.37 points. Splitting carries with Rickey Williams will make the final score a nail biter an too close to call a victor. I had expected to see Mike Bell in the starting line up this week, that would have made the difference in the "I Shoulda Started" category. Like Grease, Stables final point totals fell to earth like a rock. Rutting Bucks had a sub-par performance from his core lineup, though Chad Johnson [Ochocinco] and a surprising good game this week. I'm sure it hurt to root for Chad Johnson and root for the Packers at the same time.

Fantasy Rankings - Week 1
A weekly Fantasy Team Power Rankings.
There is nothing scientific about how I will rank the teams each week. I’ll use a mix of records, performance, bench depth, injuries, my personal knowledge and any humorous findings I can come up with, will determine how your team will be ranked each week. If there is good feedback for this article, I’ll continue it through the regular season with updates Wednesday morning. Once the playoffs start, winning speaks for itself.

1. Buckwheat [1-0] - The 2008 League Champions continue this season as the top ranked fantasy team. Powered by a well balanced rushing and receiving core, plus tons of depth at the RB spot will do wonders for this team.
2. Thunder Choads [1-0] - All Day Peterson, oh man this team is going to roll with this stud on the roster. As long as the receiving core scores consistently, I see good things this year.
3. The Stud Stable [0-1] - Despite the Week 1 loss, Drew Brees and a solid receiving core will carry this team into the playoffs. Time will tell if the RBs pick their game up to make this a well balanced team.
4. Grease Slappers [1-0] - True, high score of the week normally would rank this team higher, but an injury to McNabb and very little depth will make this team an all or nothing team. If the rookies start to get the carries, this team could be good. If any more injuries happen to the starters, this team will drop off the radar.
5. Crippled Monkeys [1-0] - Once the receiving core picks their game up to help score points with the tough RB core of MJD and Cadillac , you should see it rise in the rankings.
6. Pimp Juice [0-1] - Brady, Gore, LT, Holmes, Driver and even Fred Jackson looked good [lets revisit Fred once Marshawn Lynch returns]. A very good nucleus of players and props to keeping Brady injured for an entire year. After one week, 378 yards passing on 52 passing attempts, it appears to have paid off.
7. Dynasty [0-1] - A new year, a new team, like the monkeys, the receivers got off to a bad start. While the RBs are decent, some of the backups may do very little, but after one week, it may take a few more weeks to get them going.
8. Stickboy [1-0] - Despite the poor showing from it's top receivers, I do believe this team will rise, how far is my only concern. I can't see the Steelers being a passing team each week and Cutler throwing for 4 interceptions each will, I'm scared for your QBs. Now the RBs are yet another concern with no studs on the roster, although, McFadden could be a surprise bright spot of the Raiders continue to play like they did on Monday night and that may be enough to save your season.
9. Rutting Bucks [0-1] - I really like this team, despite it's poor showing in week 1. Getting Marshawn Lynch back will be a huge plus to get this team back on track. Thomas Jones picked up where he left off last year. I would have certainly kept him on my roster if the rules would have allowed. A. Rodgers will have better weeks and will rank this team higher in a few weeks.
10. Dragons [0-1] - The team with the most veterans on it's roster. Hopefully they're just off to a slow start and will help this team to win starting in week 2. If not, Fitz cannot carry this team alone, more points will have to come from somewhere.
11. Big Daddy [0-1] - Has to be a disappointing start to the season. P. Manning will have better weeks. Injuries to a couple of the core players will give this team a slow start. Perhaps the waiver wire will be the key to this teams survival or Big Daddy may be chasing Grease Slappers record setting year in 2008.
12. One Angry Gook [1-0] - This team has a lot of concerns after the first week. The studs did not perform, but they will, have no fear. Donald Brown will be a key player in a few weeks. There is a lot of upside and a lot of talent on this team, but it needs to get on track early and stay injury free.

Game Recaps - Week 1
Week 1 is almost completed. Two more games left to play on Monday night, an early one and a late one. I do wish the NFL would do this format each week instead of only Week 1.
Some enjoyable games in the NFL this week. The Vikings are still the Vikings, high powered running game, strong Defense and a minor passing game. The Saints are still the Saints. Drew Brees throws for 6 freakin touchdowns!! That equals as many touchdowns scored by the Tennessee, Pittsburgh, Miami, Carolina, Cincinnati, Houston, and St Louis combined this week!
As for the Sunday Night game between Chicago and Green Bay....I'm sure someone I know will be paying out a lot of lost bets this week.
Just a quick, boring recap this week. I'm still figuring out the format of this website and spent too much time messing around with it.
