2012 Power Rank - Week 5

Week: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
RANK

TEAM REC COMMENT
1 (1) One Angry Gook 3-2 A bit of a let down after last weeks 180 point week. The loss drops this team down to 3-2, but
2 (3) Hustla 3-2 Second high score of the week, three weeks in a row. However, this is the Bears BYE week, so we'll see how this team fairs without the bulk of the point scorers.
3 (2) Buckwheat 4-1 Calvin, Julio and AJ Green, oh my....and now Benson is out for eight weeks and garbage for RB's.
4 (4) Crippled Monkeys 3-2 Riding a two game losing streak with Cam Newton leading the way. I hadn't realized it until just now, but this team has three NYG receivers.
5 (5) Dynasty 3-2 I honestly can't believe you won last week. But all it takes is for a couple players to score out of their minds, enter Marques Colston with 40 points. Very nice.
6 (7) Thunder Choads 2-3 Two wins in a row thanks to Bradshaw, Charles and Cruz.
7 (8) Stickboy 3-2 Currently has the least amount of points scored against....didn't this happen last year?
8 (6) Top Notch 2-3 Has played the third highest scoring team or better the last three weeks, however they only have the second most points scored against on the season.
9 (9) Dragons 2-3 Just because you played the team that scored the most points for the week doesn't mean it's time to hit the panic button.
10 (12) Grease Slappers 2-3 Not a very pretty line up with five on the BYE, but you pulled out a victory in the end.
11 (10) Short Bus All-Stars 1-4 The real Chris Johnson has returned and so did the loss.
12 (11) Rutting Bucks 1-4 Ouch, with Danny Amendola now injured, there ain't much happening with this team now.

2012 Power Rank - Week 4

Week: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4
RANK

TEAM REC COMMENT
1 (2) One Angry Gook 3-1 Deservingly ranked in the one spot after scoring an all time league record, 181 points. Yet, now this team also sports Arian Foster after the big trade with the Monkeys.
2 (1) Buckwheat 3-1 Had just enough to defeat the last undefeated team this season.
3 (4) Hustla 3-1 So many Bears, so many points....so far it's working out.
4 (3) Crippled Monkeys 3-1 Let the Frank Gore era begin!!
5 (5) Dynasty 2-2 Very tough match up last week, but still scoring well enough most weeks.
6 (6) Top Notch 2-2 Another decent week, just not enough for a victory.
7 (8) Thunder Choads 1-3 Finally a win for a pretty decent team that should make the playoffs.
8 (7) Stickboy 2-2 The starters just didn't produce, but how can you sit most of them?
9 (11) Dragons 2-2 Cruising along to victory, but can this team keep it going week to week?
10 (12) Short Bus All-Stars 1-3 Pulls out the first victory of the season with the third highest score of the week. You still had two others that you could have faced, yet the schedule maker gave you a break this week.
11 (9) Rutting Bucks 1-3 Andre Brown, second week as starter, not so good Al.
12 (10) Grease Slappers 1-3 Well, Aaron Rodgers showed you why you spent your draft dollars on him, too bad the rest of the team was on vacation.

2012 Power Rank - Week 3

Week: 1 | 2 | 3
RANK
(prev)
TEAM REC COMMENT
1 (1) Buckwheat 2-1 After three weeks, most points scored by QB and WR, plus leading the league in total points overall by about 60 points. Look out, here comes the non-division match ups.
2 (1) One Angry Gook 2-1 I still think this team is cursed with Mike Williams on the roster, but they earned their second win of the season.
3 (3) Crippled Monkeys 3-0 Got the win and didn't top 100 points. Can this team get back to the Week 2 dominance?
4 (6) Hustla 2-1 Currently the second highest scoring team in the league and is one of two teams to score 120 points or more each week.
5 (7) Dynasty 2-1 Two good weeks in a row, but now they've lost CJ Spiller and will have to rely on Donald Brown?
6 (4) Top Notch 2-1 Had another decent week, but drew the tough match up against Team Buckwheat.
7 (5) Stickboy 2-1 There is a rumor Alex Smith will be the starter next week....oh what joy!
8 (11) Thunder Choads 1-2 Leading in bench point scoring, so there is plenty of points there to be inserted.
9 (10) Rutting Bucks 1-2 $100 dollars well spent on Andre Brown, but how many weeks will it last?
10 (8) Grease Slappers 1-2 How's that Aaron Rodgers top dollar pick working out for you after three weeks now?
11 (9) Dragons 1-2 Brutal week, but will get Eli back on track for Week 4, if you start your studs.
12 (12) Short Bus All-Stars 0-3 May have gone from bad to worser with Hillis injured and Collie out for the season.

2012 Power Rank - Week 2

Week: 1 | 2
RANK

TEAM REC COMMENT
1 (7) One Angry Gook 1-1 All eight starters in Week 2 scored 15 points or more. On top of that, you're making trade offers to improve on your team....
2 (2) Buckwheat 1-1 If McFadden gets going, you'll have quite the duo with Reggie Bush. And there is Matt Ryan, Megatron and AJ Green.
3 (5) Crippled Monkeys 2-0 At some point in the season, Adrian Peterson will be back to stud form each week, plus Arian Foster, Cam, this could be another deadly combination.
4 (4) Top Notch 2-0 Pretty nice win, despite having two players score zero points. Now next week could be rough in the receivers department with injuries.
5 (1) Stickboy 1-1 Secretly, we all loved your Randall Cobb pickup and we are all glad that you started him too!
6 (3) Hustla 1-1 Loses Forte, gets Ryan Mathews....will that be enough to offset the points?
7 (11) Dynasty 1-1 Loses Fred Jackson, inserts CJ Spiller and all is right with the world.
8 (8) Grease Slappers 1-1 How are those top two picks of yours doing so far? There was one improvement from last week, you only have four players with zero points instead of five!!
9 (10) Dragons 1-1 Has an appointment with Over Thinkers Anonymous on Wednesday. I heard Eli Manning is the keynote speaker.
10 (12) Rutting Bucks 1-1 A much better week than the first week, if we can keep it going, the ranking can only get better.
11 (6) Thunder Choads 0-2 An awful Week 2 will make next weeks starters tough to decide on.
12 (10) Short Bus All-Stars 0-2 Here we go again....

Weekend Recap - Week 2

Commish's Corner....

We lose three so far this week in the Survivor Pool. Team Buckwheat and Team Dragons both picking Dallas and Crippled Monkeys selecting the Patriots. Dynasty and Grease advance to Week 3 with the All-Stars revealing their team in the Monday night game.

Hopefully I have finally set the Blind Bid Waiver and the First Come, First Server waivers correctly now. I've had my struggles with setting this up in the past, and when I compare last years setup to this years [before my changes], they were identical. I made an adjustment to the calendar now, so with any luck, I won't have to adjust this going forward. We shall see as the week progresses.

After a disappointing first week, Rutting Bucks struts his team and is currently at a 33 or so point lead over Team Stickboy. I wouldn't call this one over, but 33 points is a lot to make up from one Receiver. So I'll give them a 98% chance of winning this week. Overall they had a decent week, Philip Rivers and Danny Amendola were the key players, plus the bench players did fairly weel, at least the ones who played. Stickboy was Randall Cobbed this week. Had more bench points than starting points, so there is lots of points being wasted. Eight receivers on this team and you can only start three, good luck with that. Also, Kevin Smith didn't get hurt this week, so that's a positive.

Dynasty

Team Dynasty saw it live in person, the Vikings lose another one. The one saving grace is, they have claimed their first win of the season. They have proved that you can win with stud running backs. Though, on draft night, you wouldn't have thought CJ Spiller would be tops in the league. Grease, or Grease....Aaron Rodgers has let you down again. Isn't this about the week when you panic and start trading or dropping your players?

Short Bus All-Stars

RB Michael TurnerMNFRB Willis McGahee
PK Matt Prater
After counting themselves out on Thursday after the Packers put up 25 points, the All Stars could have won this week with a decent performance. But no, they had an awful, awful week. If you don't mind, I'll reuse an early bit, this team was Ogletreed. You picked him up, but yeash! Dragons, it could have been so much better....510 yards, 3 TD's by Eli Manning and he's on your bench in place of Andrew Luck. You've read it over and over and over....Always Start Your Studs!! Baring another nightmare, Dragon's still should win this week.

Hustla

vsCrippled Monkeys

Battle of the unbeaten's in the Central with Monkeys coming out on top. They currently have the high score of the week and rightfully so with three players nearly scoring 30 points or more. Just an impressive looking team with AP still looking for his normal self. Hustla takes a the loss and will worry for the next 6 weeks with Matt Forte sidelined one a high ankle sprain. At the very least, I believe this team found it's starting weekly QB with RGIII.

Top Notch
(1-0) West
109.79
vsThunder Choads
(0-1) West

noneMNFPK Matt Bryant
Despite having two goose eggs from Greg Jennings and with Aaron Hernandez getting injured, Top Notch had another great week. Rice and Sproles each producing 22. They should move to 2-0 in the West. The Choads got Victor Cruz going this week with 34, but the rest of the team looked terrible.

Buckwheat
(1-0) West
111.13
vsOne Angry Gook

QB Matt RyanMNFWR Demaryius Thomas
WR Roddy White
Is this close or what? .06 separates the teams, each have players in Monday Night's game. I'm excited to see this one play out as it should be close, right? The winner will be tied in the West at 2-0 with Top Notch.

2012 Power Rankings - Week 1

Week: 1 |
RANK
(prev)
TEAM REC COMMENT
1 (-) Stickboy 1-0 Rolls to the high score of the week to start the season. Note to self, don't mess with the 2011 Super Bowl champs. They are on their way for the third title. :)
2 (-) Buckwheat 1-0 If Matt Ryan can produce more scores like Week 1, can you say "Michael Vick who?
3 (-) Hustla 1-0 Yes, you kicked it in Week 1 thanks to the Bears, but can they keep it going for you? RGIII was looking great, just like his college days.
4 (-) Top Notch 1-0 Great starting core and a win in Week 1 silenced the nay sayers from draft night.
5 (-) Crippled Monkeys 1-0 Gambled with AP in the starting line up and was rewarded, and this team has some depth.
6 (-) Thunder Chaods 0-1 Had a really great first week, but just didn't have enough for the win.
7 (-) One Angry Gook 0-1 This team is now in angry mode with a loss in Week 1. I still think this is a team to look out for as the season goes on. Although, I believe it currently has the Grease Slappers curse of having Mike Williams on his team.
8 (-) Grease Slappers 1-0 We knew this team had starters, but reserve players, yeash! Five back up players with zero points!! Are you kidding me?
9 (-) Short Bus All-Stars 0-1 Is needing some RB help to get their first win next week. The remainder of the team should be decent enough.
10 (-) Dragons 0-1 Mixed reviews after this past week. Should get it going soon....right?
11 (-) Dynasty 0-1 Losing Fred Jackons right out of the gate....rough start, yet, drafted his handcuff, CJ Spiller. Great insite and I would expect this teams ranking to increase with a W.
12 (-) Rutting Bucks 0-1 Looking for s stronger showing in Week 2 after a good week of practice from his team.
